MICHAEL CORLETO

Maine's own singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist

Michael's music lives in the space between structure and spontaneity. With a uniquely improvisational approach and a vocabulary that spans many genres, Michael has carved his own musical identity defined by honesty and constant evolution.

Michael’s journey began at 10 years old when—out of after-school boredom—he picked up his sister Emily's red squire stratocaster guitar and discovered a world that instantly felt like home. Guided and supported by his parents, Michael quickly developed a work ethic far beyond his years. By age 12, he was performing locally; by his mid-late teens, he was receiving calls from area venues, eager to bring him in. That was the moment Michael realized music wasn’t just something he loved—it was something he could build a career around.

Inspired by artists such as The Wood Brothers, Van Morrison, James Taylor, The Allman Brothers Band, The Beatles, Shakey Graves, Jason Isbell, Anders Osborne,  Jim Croce, and many more, Michael absorbed elements from each while forming a voice and perspective distinctly his own. His music transcends genres freely—Americana, alternative, bluegrass, jazz, folk and more—reflecting his belief that creativity should be ever-changing and never boxed in.

In 2022, Michael attended Berklee College of Music, and although he chose to leave and pursue his musical path, the friendships he gained there have remained some of the most important, both personally and influentially in his life and music. Since then, he has released three albums, two of which have been alongside producer—Jonathan Wyman (Mastered by Adam Ayan Mastering). his latest release, Willie, was recorded alongside producer Ryan Ordway (Mastered by Dave harris at studiobmastering). Willie also features standout performances from Luke Black and Drury Anderson of Mountain Grass Unit.

Onstage, Michael is known for an honest & deeply improvisational performance. Often feeling different from your typical solo set: he follows the energy of the room, stretching & rebuilding songs in real time, and treating each moment as a fresh canvas. Michael has no interest in being a flashy performer; instead, he delivers a focused, musically-driven presence that resonates with listeners who appreciate real musicianship. Never playing a song the same way twice, audiences often return for his unpredictability and instrumental expressiveness.

Professionally, Michael performs an average of 250 shows year-round, spending his winter performing in Key West, Florida, and the remainder of the year gigging extensively across Southern Maine. Always bringing an eclectic setlist and adaptable style to any venues, weddings or private event. Michael is known among clients, bookies and business owners for being easy to work with: punctual, professional, attentive, and versatile. He is not one to take breaks during his set, he always welcomes requests, and is no stranger to learning songs on the fly. Michael is always highly sensitive to the atmosphere of a room—whether it calls for quiet, warm background music or an energetic, upbeat blend of your favorite music. He offers full sound equipment, travels for events, and can shape his performance to suit any style.

At the core of everything Michael does is a simple philosophy: music should be authentic, honest, and a genuine reflection of you as an artist—especially as you grow & change. He brings that belief into each recording session, performance, and event he plays, aiming always to serve the music and the moment. No matter the occasion, Michael creates a musical experience that feels personal, intentional, and one-of-a-kind.
